Senior Survey Manager
Location: Nationwide Business Unit Support with home working when and where appropriate
Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Highways Business Unit for an experienced Survey Manager.
The Senior Survey Manager will be heading a wider Survey team/department within Morgan Sindall Infrastructure – Highways Business Unit. The team/department will consist of Survey Managers, Senior and Junior Surveyors, as well as Assistant and Apprentice Surveyors, working on Highways Projects, Schemes and Frameworks across England.
The main purpose of this role is to work along side Project Managers and Directors in order to provide support in all aspects related to Surveying across the Highways Business Unit.
The Senior Survey Managers immediate role responsibilities will be as follows but not limited to:
- Reportable to the Senior Engineering Manager/Technical Director
- Overseeing Surveying on civil engineering and building works within the company’s operating area
- Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with Morgan Sindall Standards
- Operate and promote a high standard of health, safety and environment compliance
- Carry out Surveying audits on projects
- Plan and establish procedures to ensure that all Surveying operations, project schedules and milestones are achieved
- Provide project site management support in regard to Surveying, where required
- Support the tendering and early project stages in regard to Surveying
- Recruit, manage, coach and assist Surveying staff in all aspects of their duties
- Manage compliance of Morgan Sindall Survey quality procedures
- Always set Perfect Delivery as the benchmark for all projects
- Ensure that you take personal responsibility and accountability for your actions
- Always promote a professional and courteous image
The things we are looking for.
Technical knowledge:
- Previous experience Managing a Survey team/department
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree/HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent)
- Experience working on a construction site with site supervision experience
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
- Fully conversant with the use of all Surveying Equipment including GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, Digital Levels
- Experience in the use and application of 3D laser scanners in Surveying and Modelling
- Very experienced and confident in the use of relevant Survey packages such as LSS/NRG/SCC/N4CE
- Experience in utilising AutoDesk Civils 3D
- Experience of survey monitoring regimes, setting up & interpreting the data
- Ability to use relevant software to produce Earthwork quantities
- Ability to produce 3D visualisations
- Excellent 3D spatial data management
- Use AutoCAD in a 3D environment
- Aware of BIM in the construction field
- Experienced in survey machine control systems
- Aware of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Experienced in utilising UAV systems in surveying
- Experienced in utilising Mobile Scan systems/LiDAR in surveying
- Experienced and confident in the use of computers and Microsoft Office
- CSCS competency card mandatory in a relevant subject

- Sound knowledge of construction practises and standards within their subject
