Senior Planner (Construction) Role
We are seeking an exceptional and proactive Senior Planner to join our dynamic project controls team. This senior position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our cutting-edge projects in the Civils Construction field, from design and procurement to installation. We are looking for someone with practical construction experience and a deep understanding of the construction sequence and EPC projects. Your role will involve liaising with and challenging key delivery partners involved in the works.
This position is within the Sellafield Programme and Project Partners (PPP) framework, which is an infrastructure strategic alliance responsible for Construction Management in collaboration with Sellafield Limited and Morgan Sindall. As a Senior Planner, you will play a crucial role in this framework.
We expect proficiency in Primavera P6 and a strong understanding of 3D BIM models. You will be responsible for detailed reporting using the Earned Value Management system. Experience with NEC contracts is essential, as we require a working knowledge of change management and regular acceptance of the programme.
The majority of your work will be based on the Sellafield Site, where you will collaborate with the project delivery team and manage interfaces with key delivery partners. We understand the value of work-life balance, and we are open to considering 1 or 2 days of remote work from home, in agreement with the project team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide planning management and support for both pre-contract and contract operations.
- Coordinate with bid and construction teams to effectively manage and control the planning and programming aspects of bid proposals and ongoing projects.
- Produce, manage, and update the construction programme, ensuring clear communication to internal and external customers and major stakeholders.
- Incorporate and manage change events within the construction programme while working closely with the commercial team to secure full entitlement under the contract.
- Ensure effective tracking of design deliverables and update procurement schedules accordingly.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Earned Value Management and the reporting process.
- Proactively use Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) and effectively manage risks.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to assistant planners and planners.
