The opportunity:
As People Director, you will be pivotal to our developing people commitment and leading a fun and thriving team.
The People Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a people strategy aligned to the division’s objectives and five-year plan.
You will work collaboratively with cross business unit teams, to advise and guide.

Responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Lead the function with a business focussed approach, ensuring Infrastructure has the best talent working in the best environment
- Direct leadership of the divisional team, being accountable for organisational design of the function and resourcing, ensuring the team is setup to deliver the operating model and strategy
- Lead the business partnering model between Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and our Infrastructure Business Units, to ensure frameworks are consulted, add value and can be implemented consistently across the business
- Establish the most effective operating model to ensure departmental accountabilities for the range of HR functions are clear, understood and enacted, including talent and succession, talent acquisition, business partnering and HRIS & benefits
- Oversight (but control is with SHEQ & People Director) of the budget and report on current and future staffing costs and initiatives
- Lead on special projects and communicate and direct on strategy and implementation
- Challenge the leadership team(s) where appropriate and suggest alternative solutions
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be a value led people leader with demonstrable experience of leading and developing effective HR teams
- Be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook
- Possess an in depth understanding of HR best practice and legislation
- Have strong influencing skills, effective stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate business strategy into effective and forward focussed people strategy within a complex decentralised environment
- Demonstrate Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Be data and insight-led in developing a strategy to ensure that plans reflect the requirements of the audience
