The Senior Operations Director will be responsible for the overall management of a major infrastructure project in a regulated environment. The role includes attending relevant business unit meetings and input into pre construction activities and reviewing of tender proposals and selection of staff, recruitment and performance management of operational staff.
Prior knowledge of the MOD and/or Nuclear industry are desirable but are not a primary driver.
Experience in working on large infrastructure projects / frameworks is essential.

Overseeing the overall management and performance of major/mega projects (Circa £350m+) including planning, design, construction, programme controls and monitoring, ensuring the project is delivered to time, budget and specification.
Providing the leadership and strategic direction to the project in line with an innovative ethos, methods of working and best practice.
Building and sustaining an integrated, multi-cultural, collaborative and high performance team that anticipates and responds to the needs of the organisation and key stakeholders
Implementing strategies for service delivery, capturing learning to promote a culture of continuous improvement and better practice
Contributing with fresh ideas on strategy, business planning, and service delivery that will challenge normal practice.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
- Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times
- Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
- Maintain and develop organisational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers and suppliers.
Experience:
- Proven experience as Operations Director, Director or Associate Director in a Property and Construction Consultancy
- Project Management or Quantity Surveying specialist (Ideally RICS)
- Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
- Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Control of all aspects of the business and for the balance sheet including forecasting and budgeting.
- Record in excellent health and safety standard, consistent product quality, manufacturing efficiency and best practice.
