Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on the Great Grid Partnership (GGP) with National Grid. Within our thriving Energy business under an Enterprise Agreement, this programme will cover the next 10 years. Numerous projects of differing value and duration are to be undertaken and completed as part of this.
Initially, you will play a key role in supporting the GGP Core Service team, focusing on commercial, procurement & finance activities. As the programme progresses into the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, this role will transition into directly supporting GGP project delivery and you will provide commercial support and management, ensuring that all aspects of project contract administration is undertaken in a timely and accurate manner.

The Person:
The successful candidate will be joining an existing team of passionate and dedicated individuals.
We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is commercially astute and delivery-focused, ideally in having delivered energy projects previously.
Qualifications and experience:
- Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline) and you have or will be working towards professional membership of an appropriate organisation (for example, RICS/CIOB).
- Experience of a Contract Management System (CEMAR, Fast Draft, etc.)
- Supervisory/management experience within a project commercial team
- NEC 3 or 4 experiences essential
- Est. 5 – 10 years’ experience) Could manage a small team, whilst reporting into a more senior member for strategic and management guidance
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will
Provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the commercial lead in a geographical focused team.
Ensure the provision of accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the management team whilst ensuring the contract achieves the appropriate commercial targets.
Subcontract procurement, management and final account resolution
Management of junior project commercial staff
Delivery and accountability for internal and external project commercial targets
Engagement with project stakeholders including Client commercial team
Ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders
The highlighting of any current and potential issues to the leadership team.
Maintain compliance with approved processes procedures, project executive plans and collaborative management plans
Actively contribute to continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of Quantity Surveying
Have knowledge and awareness of finance systems like COINS.
Managing change control processes both upstream and downstream
Ensuring accurate and timely cost reporting, forecasting, and risk management
