Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team delivering a wide range of schemes for Network Rail. Working within a long-term framework running until 2029, with over £100m of work allocated to Morgan Sindall, you’ll manage projects at varying stages of design and construction, with package values ranging from £100k to £15m.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing all aspects of multiple contracts across their full lifecycle, from pre-construction through delivery.
- Acting as the primary commercial liaison with the client and key stakeholders.
- Contributing to the development and standardisation of reporting tools to support overarching framework management.
- Setting up and managing schemes under NEC contract conditions, ensuring compliance and effective commercial control.
- Delivering detailed cost and value management against work breakdown structures (WBS) and cost heads.
- Supporting risk and opportunity management and driving efficiencies across projects.
- Providing accurate, timely commercial reporting and advice to the management team.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on rail or large civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts with the ability to manage projects through the full contract lifecycle.
- Excellent cost and value management skills, with a track record of delivering successful commercial outcomes.
- Framework experience advantageous, though not essential.
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build long-term collaborative relationships.
- Detail-focused, proactive and confident in leading reporting, governance and commercial controls.
