We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Senior Estimating Manager to join our Energy business unit, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting transmission schemes and projects in Scotland.
Role Overview
As the Senior Estimating Manager you will manage and be the focal point for a range of estimating activities in Scotland, including energy tenders, ECI and allocated works. Alongside your associated activities from conception through to completion, delivering work that meets project requirements, customer satisfaction and in accordance with Morgan Sindall standards. They will play a leading role in delivering the company’s value set and philosophy.
Role Responsibilities
The Senior Estimating Manager will be responsible for the overseeing and management of pricing at tenders and ECI stages or allocated work in Scotland for our major clients.
- Resource planning, recruitment, and management of wider estimating teams in Scotland.
- Setting personal goals while identifying and pursuing new targets and opportunities.
- Providing rational and systematic analysis of situations to enable decisions while questioning and evaluating on more varied issues.
- Creating resource plans for an unfamiliar or potentially complex project.
- Managing others to implement effective planning, problem-solving and decision making while understanding the resource implications on the business plan.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Essential extensive estimating experience in a Tier 1 Contractor.
- Essential effective and successful team management experience.
- Experience in energy transmission and within civils is desirable.
- Educated to degree level in Estimating or equivalent.

About the Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
