About the Apprenticeship

 

 

Our structured Apprenticeship porgramme covers a variety of personal development and technical training to support your well-rounded development. Our porgramme blends practical exposure to enhance your discipline specific abilities whilst enhancing your individual personal development during your early career. 

You’ll also be offered a professional scheme mentor to help you on your path to chartership with your specific professional institute.

We have a great group of early careers currently in the business and plenty of experienced colleagues who get involved in supporting you at every step of the way!

 

About the project

Projects in the Nuclear sector cover a wide variety of scope from upgrading electrical distribution, bridge construction or pumping systems up to the construction of brand-new facilities that are of significant national importance. Working on these key frameworks there is a constant pipeline of projects that will challenge and develop your skills and provide the opportunity to excel and progress in your career.

 

What will you
be doing?

Working in the construction industry is an exciting career path for supply chain and business graduates where Supply Chain Management, Finance, Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Design Teams work together side by side towards the ultimate objective which is the successful delivery of projects.

The Supply Chain Management team is recognised as a key enabling function working with multiple stakeholders to deliver our commitments as one team.  We will look to develop you to gain all kind of skills from technical through to leadership and as you progress giving you greater responsibility to work with you to realise your full potential and career path.

You will have exposure to working with subject matter experts across the business and within the function, who will support and mentor you in providing regular feedback to increase your knowledge growth, learning from experience, as well as career and education options including attainment of professional qualifications.

 

Day to day responsibilities may include:

Converting purchase requisition into purchase orders in a timely and accurately manner

Communicate with suppliers and stakeholders efficiently and effectively

Expediate orders to ensure delivery on site is on time and complete

Data management - ensuring data records and reporting are accurate and up to date

Requesting and gathering data from suppliers for performance management and customer reporting

Supporting project supply chain managers in tendering, evaluating responses, supplier recommendations and contract award

Preparing presentations and reports

Supplier relationship management and performance meeting preparation

Support activity for continuous improvements projects to support functional development plan

Support SCM governance activity

Update management reporting dashboards, liaising with team members

Problem solve and put forward recommendations to manage risk and progress opportunities

 

What qualifications
do I require?

Five GCSE’s grades 9-4 (A*- C) including Math’s, English and a Science or Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Ability to travel to remote locations.

Ideally some exposure to a construction/ engineering environment

 

You will need the
