About the Apprenticeship

 

 

Our structured Apprenticeship porgramme covers a variety of personal development and technical training to support your well-rounded development. Our porgramme blends practical exposure to enhance your discipline specific abilities whilst enhancing your individual personal development during your early career. 

 

You’ll also be offered a professional scheme mentor to help you on your path to chartership with your specific professional institute.

We have a great group of early careers currently in the business and plenty of experienced colleagues who get involved in supporting you at every step of the way!

 

   

What will you
be doing?

 

A MEICA apprentice will be involved in a number of areas across major projects to develop a wide and diverse knowledge.

Engineering – Involved in the design and development of Major Projects.  Part of a large engineering design team, liaising with multidisciplinary engineers to ensure compliance with functional specifications and nuclear safety.

Procurement – Ensuring scoping documents are suitable and compliant with project requirements. Using engineering knowledge to provide support to procurement and commercial functions when engaging with the supply chain.

Project Management – As part of a team responsible for delivery of scope within the project. Ensuring cost, programme and quality assurance and compliance.

Construction – Ensuring compliance with H&S legislation and providing management/supervision of Contractors and Subcontractors on site. Reviewing and updating programmes, drawings and documents to ensure compliance and assurance.

Stakeholder – Large Multidisciplinary projects require good, strong interpersonal and influencing skills to engage in the wide varying stakeholders involved in the delivery of a major project.

As you start to develop, and your knowledge grows within the areas above you will become responsible for more complex and larger areas of scope with the Project.

 

What qualifications
do I require?

 

Five GCSE’s grades 9-4 (A*- C) including Math’s, English and a Science or Level 3 Apprenticeship. Minimum 6 grade in English preferred.

Ability to travel to remote locations.

Ideally some exposure to a construction/ engineering environment

Areas of exposure or related studies in Electrical, Mechanical and Building Services are preferred.
