About the apprenticeship

 

Our structured Apprenticeship Programme covers a variety of personal development and technical training to support your well-rounded development. Our Programme blends practical exposure to enhance your discipline specific abilities whilst enhancing your individual personal development during your early career. 

You’ll also be offered a professional scheme mentor, to help and support you.

We have a great early careers community currently in the business and plenty of experienced colleagues who get involved in supporting you at every step of the way!

About the project

Projects in the Nuclear sector cover a wide variety of scope from upgrading electrical distribution, bridge construction or pumping systems up to the construction of brand new facilities that are of significant national importance. Working on these key frameworks there is a constant pipeline of projects that will challenge and develop your skills and provide the opportunity to excel and progress in your career.

What will you
be doing?

Working in the construction industry is an existing career path for finance and business apprentices where Finance, Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Design Teams work together side by side towards the ultimate objective which is the successful delivery of projects.

 

Construction is a huge industry and is fundamental to the growth of the UK economy.

 

You will be embedded into the Business Unit Finance Teams where colleagues will share their knowledge and provide appropriate training. Each apprentice will have a mentor assigned to them to support their career and training choices including professional qualifications. The Finance Teams consists of Finance Managers, Project Accountants, Cost Managers, Payable Analysts and Assistant Accountants. The Business Unit offers future opportunities for Senior Finance Leaders who will be responsible for managing all finance aspects on big construction projects

 

 

What qualifications
do I require?

 

 

·     Five GCSE’s grades 9-4 (A*- C) including Math’s, English and a Science or Level 3 Apprenticeship. Minimum 6 grade in Math’s preferred.

·     An interest in working within a construction/engineering environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

You will need the
ability to:

·       Set goals and secure the right resources to achieve them

·       Speak engagingly by using facts and examples to support points

·       Demonstrate active listening through the use of open-ended questions to deepen understanding

·       Develop ideas by considering different perspectives

·       Contribute to group decision-making, acknowledging the value of alternative ideas

·       Speak adaptively by adjusting content based on the response of listeners

·       Manage time and allocate resources to support task completion

·       Collaborate effectively by understanding and respecting the diversity of others' cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds

·       Demonstrate attentive listening and record pertinent information from others.
